Career detail
Started work at the watch repairers bench in 1948.
National Service: Royal Air Force – Intrument mechanic
Commenced working as Retail Jeweller with Croydon's of Ipswich in 1953
Retail Jewellers Diploma 1956/7
Horological Salesman Course with British Horological Society in the mid 60's Best student of the year!
Tutor with the N.A.G. since 1978
Qualified Valuer
It is my firm belief that the N.A.G. courses are second to none in equipping a newcomer into the trade with knowledge and expertise needed to become successful and above all effective retail jeweller

Interests and activities
I have two adorable grandchildren: Alastair (9) and Megan (7) guess they together with their parents are the greatest joy in my life.
Fascinated with all aspects of road and rail transport specially trams and tramways old and new
Member of the East Anglian Transport Museum society
Friend of the Ipswich Transport Museum, it is unique in that all the exhibits were made or used in Ipswich and district, it is housed in an old trolley bus depot: the oldest Trolleybus in the world is among its many items
Involved in local parish church. Member of 'Care group'. also organist and leader of the choir.
